Why Delhi homes need a warehouse hold more often than a same-day NCT hop

Inside the National Capital Territory the hard part is rarely the kilometres on the map. Moves stall because the new flat’s possession date, the old society’s freight-lift booking, and Delhi’s goods-vehicle restricted hours do not land on the same calendar. A Saket or Vasant Kunj complex may clear a four-hour service lift only after the buyer’s handover letter is stamped. A Dwarka CGHS tower may refuse goods vehicles outside its booked window. A Rohini DDA floor may have only a passenger lift. East Delhi galis may need a shuttle before the main truck can even load. The rent on the leaving flat does not wait for any of that.

Most of the Delhi inventory we hold comes from belts that fail in different ways:

• South Delhi — Saket, Vasant Kunj and nearby — basement parking, sloped ramps, boom-barrier registers, and guards who want the vehicle number early. Independent floors nearby can mean staircase carry for a fridge.
• Dwarka and West Delhi society / CGHS belts — one freight lift, a booked window, a gate pass, and quiet hours that do not stretch just because possession slipped.
• Rohini and North Delhi — DDA flats and builder floors — passenger lifts that fit a sofa but not a double-door fridge; staircase manpower belongs on the quote.
• East Delhi — Laxmi Nagar, Mayur Vihar and gali access — small vehicle into the lane, main-road truck point, shuttle or long-carry written before load day.
• Karol Bagh and denser Central Delhi lanes — standing room and timing matter as much as carton count.

After NCT pickup the hold itself sits at Sector 102, Dwarka Expressway side of Gurugram. That is a normal Delhi-to-warehouse hop for us — not a claim that we have a fake Delhi branch godown. We still plan around goods-vehicle restricted hours inside Delhi and your society’s lift slot; the expressway does not erase either.

What you can store (and what we refuse)

We store packed household goods that belong to the shifting job: numbered cartons, wrapped furniture, mattresses, and appliances packed to the grade on your quote. Kitchen and glass get the heavier carton treatment; soft goods and books use standard cartons. Everything that enters Sector 102 should already be on the inventory sheet you signed at truck close in Delhi.

We do not store cars (vehicle hops are delivered, never warehoused — see car transport in Delhi). We do not take loose jewellery, cash, perishables, chemicals, or items your society or insurer forbids. If something is too fragile or high-value for a shared household bay, we say so on the survey instead of hiding it in fine print.

Carton ID continuity from Delhi pack → Sector 102 → delivery

Storage only works if the numbers survive the hold. On load day in Delhi every carton gets an ID; you sign one sheet before the shutter comes down. Those same IDs stay with the lot at Sector 102. On release day we read the numbers back as boxes come off at your Delhi flat — or at another NCR address written on the quote. Mid-hold partial retrieval is possible for labelled cartons when the quote allows a visit; remaining IDs stay on the sheet so the lot does not go fuzzy.

Short hold vs longer hold

Short hold — a few days to roughly two weeks — usually bridges a possession letter, a CGHS lift that will not open until next weekend, or a goods-vehicle timing clash inside the NCT. Longer hold — several weeks into a few months — needs an explicit review date on the quote, pest-calendar awareness, and goods kept off the slab in a bay with CCTV and fire cylinders. Either way we name the start and the planned release; we do not “dump until you call” without a written window.

Retrieval is scheduled like a delivery: destination address, lift hours, and labour on the same GST paperwork. If possession slips again, we extend only after a fresh written line — not a verbal promise on WhatsApp alone.

• Packing grade already done or still to do — kitchen/glass vs furniture wrap
• NCT origin access — gali shuttle, staircase floors, CGHS / society lift hours on the day goods leave

How a typical Delhi hold runs

1. Photo survey of the leaving NCT flat (and destination notes if you already have them).
2. Written GST quote with pack date, hold start, review date, and release assumptions.
3. Pack + load in Delhi with numbered inventory; truck closes only after your sign-off.
4. Goods bayed at Sector 102 Gurugram; you keep a copy of the sheet.
5. Release into the new society when the lift and possession line up — or partial pull if quoted.
